BEACH HOLIDAYS IN MORTEHOE, NORTH DEVON
Mortehoe is the perfect place for a beach holiday. It is just moments away from the UKs best beach, Woolacombe Beach (and its small coves) and also to Rockham beach in the opposite direction.
There is heaps to do from surfing, exploring rock pools and general beach tomfoolery.
Off the beach activity is to be found in Woolacombe and back up the hill in Mortehoe.
Below are some tips to help you get the most from all that the beaches around Mortehoe offer.
Woolacombe main beach
Surfing, beach life. Can get crowded at Woolacombe end but plenty of space further along to the middle.
15 minutes walk
Grunter Beach
Secluded and empty with great rock climbing
Rockham Beach
For a more peaceful day, try Rockham beach. The steps down (assuming not closed) are steep. There are no facilities, it’s just nature at it’s best.
15 minutes walk
Curry on the beach 5-7
Barricane beach ice cream hut converts to a curry on the beach in the evenings. Bring your own wine and watch the sun set.
15 minutes walk
Barrcicane beach
Touches of the mediterranean with heart stopping jumps off the rocks into the sea for the brave.
15 minutes walk
Lee Bay
Old world charm. Time has stood still in Lee. Enjoy the walk around the rocks to the main bay areal
